The Village of Lincolnshire is located in southeast Lake County, approximately 34 miles from downtown Chicago. The Village encompasses 4.58 square miles and is generally bordered on the north and northwest by Vernon Hills; on the south and southwest by Riverwoods and Buffalo Grove; and on the east by Bannockburn and Lake Forest. Lincolnshire is characterized by higher than average household earnings; highly educated residents; and a diverse population encompassing all ages, occupations and incomes. A growing population of middle to high income households live within a three mile radius of the Village.
Growth and Development
Lincolnshire is home to six hotels: Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hampton Inn and Suites, Staybridge Suites, and SpringHill Suites, which provide ample accommodation and some wonderful recreational opportunities. Marriott’s Lincolnshire Resort, for example, is a 170-acre complex located in the heart of Lincolnshire, consisting of a 390-room hotel; four restaurants and lounges; live theater, 18 hole championship golf course; and more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space.
The Village is proud to be a regional shopping, dining and entertainment destination, featuring several dynamic commercial developments and a wide array of fine restaurants that strive to satisfy the most discerning customer. The Village Green of Lincolnshire, located at the northeast corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Olde Half Day Road, provides a unique experience with its many specialty shops, boutiques, and eateries, including Deb-Betts Clothing, LaBeaute Studio and Spa, Egg Harbor Café, and Flatlander’s Restaurant and Brewery. The CityPark of Lincolnshire, a mixed-use retail, entertainment, and office development at the southwest corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Aptakisic Road, features Dolce Vita Salon and Spa, Wildfire and Champps restaurants, in addition to a 21-theatre Regal Cinema and an IMAX theater. The Village’s newest lifestyle center, Lincolnshire Commons, situated immediately north of the CityPark, has a desirable national and regional tenant mix, consisting of DSW Shoes, White House|Black Market, Joseph A. Bank, LensCrafters Optique, Bath & Body Works, Cheesecake Factory, and a two-story Barnes & Noble bookstore.
Students in grades K to 2 attend Sprague Elementary School. Children in grades 3 and 4 attend Half Day School, and Students in grades 5 to 8 attend Daniel Wright Middle School. All three schools have won the coveted National Award for Excellence in Education. Sprague school has won it twice!
High School students attend Adlai E. Stevenson High School, on the Village's west side. Stevenson is the only public high school in the state to have earned four blue Ribbon Awards for Excellence from the United States Department of Education. The school offers more than 200 courses, including 20 Advanced Placement courses. Stevenson, which has a current enrollment of 4,300 students, is consistently ranked in the top 10 of all state public schools in Prairie State Achievement Examination scores, and has been cited as one of the top high schools in the country by Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report magazines.
Quality of Life
The Village is characterized by generous open space areas with high-quality, low-density housing. Residents and the business community benefit from high-quality and responsive public services, including a state-of-the art police department; the highly trained personnel of the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District, certified paramedics and medical technicians and a full range of public utility services.
